St Mawes and Falmouth
We depart the hotel and drive to St. Mawes, a small fishing village nestled at the end of the Roseland Peninsula. As we turn off the main A road and onto the A3078, we descend down to St Mawes enjoying lovely views and also some slight tight squeezes! We have some free time here before we catch the St. Mawes Ferry across to Falmouth where we spend the rest of the afternoon. Once a fishing port, Falmouth is now an attractive resort and among the attractions is the excellent National Maritime Museum, which opened in 2003.
Beautiful St Ives and St Michael's Mount
We visit the charming seaside resort of St Ives with its cobbled streets, full of history, legend and tradition, winding between pretty fisherman’s' cottages. St Ives is also known for its artistic connections; the Tate Gallery opened a branch here in 1993 and looks after the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. (Please note coaches are prohibited in the town of St. Ives, there is a shuttle bus service from the coach park which costs £3 per person return. Payable by you the customer). This afternoon, we travel to Marazion, with its fabulous sandy beach linked to St Michael's Mount - soak up one of the finest views in the country.
