Day 1. Welcome to Harrogate
We pick you up from your door and journey to Harrogate. We break for lunch in attractive Saffron Walden.
Day 2. Yorkshire Dales Drive and Murder Mystery
A full day exploring the Yorkshire Dales, where we enjoy a visit to the pretty Wharfedale market town of Grassington. Later we travel via Kettlewell, the location used to represent the village of ‘Knapely’ in the 2003 film ‘Calendar Girls’. We break for lunch in Hawes and return via Ribbledale, where we have a photo stop at the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct.
In the evening, there’s been a murder! It’s time to discover your inner Marple or Poirot. There are clues to the culprit – can you solve whodunnit?! The Old Swan Hotel is where author Agatha Christie famously disappeared to, from a Surrey beauty spot for 11 days in 1926.
Day 3. Genteel Harrogate
The day is free for you to explore the town of Harrogate. Enjoy a lovely stroll through beautiful Valley Gardens, explore the delightful Victorian arcades for some retail therapy. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars.
Day 4. Medieval York
We travel to historic York. We have the day to explore this fascinating city with lots of attractions to keep you busy, such as the National Railway Museum, Jorvik Centre, the City Walls, Cliffords Tower, the little streets and alleyways in the centre, not forgetting the magnificent Minster.
