Day 1. Welcome to the Royal York
We pick you up from your door and journey to Sidmouth.
Day 2. Bicton Park Botanical Gardens
At Bicton you can enjoy over 64 acres of beautiful gardens with their soft sweeping lawns, elegant water features, fragrant English borders and formal gardens, plus a breadth of activities, interests and facilities for the enjoyment of all the family. These include Bicton Woodland Railway, the perfect way to see the park. There’s also the Palm House and historic glasshouses, Countryside Museum, Garden Centre, Restaurant and Gift Shop.
Day 3. Torquay and the South Devon Railway
We enjoy a wonderful morning drive along the Devon Coast, via Dawlish and Teignmouth to the ‘Riviera’ resort of Torquay, where we break for lunch. In the afternoon, we travel to Buckfastleigh for a return ride on the South Devon Railway, which winds its way along the Dart Valley, through lovely countryside.
Day 4. Day at leisure
Described by John Betjeman as 'A town caught still in a timeless charm’, this pleasant traditional seaside resort which has been popular since Regency times. Beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, clean beaches and friendly shops…. it’s all here in this lovely seaside town that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley.
Day 5. Homeward Journey
Sadly, we wave goodbye to our hosts at the Royal York, arriving late afternoon for our taxis home.
