West Highland Line
Renowned as one of the world’s most breathtaking railway journeys, this experience is celebrated not only for its stunning 46-mile scenery but also for its prominent role in the Harry Potter films. Drift past captivating views of lochs, mountains, the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, and the Isles of Eigg, Muck, and Rum. Enjoy leisure time in the Highland fishing town of Mallaig. The return coach journey offers a contrasting perspective, with stops at Glenfinnan to see Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument and the massive viaduct, followed by a visit to Neptune’s Staircase in Banavie—a series of eight lock gates on the Caledonian Canal.
Kyle Line and Skye
We travel on ‘one of the most beautiful rail journeys in Europe’ according to Michael Palin. We ride on the Kyle Line from Dingwall to Kyle of Lochalsh. Travel across the Highlands, in the shadows of mountains and forests, beside bright lochs and wide-open moors. The coach will collect you from Kyle for the short journey on to the Isle of Skye, with time to explore.
Strathspey Railway
Brought back to life in 1978 by a dedicated group of volunteers, this ten-mile restored section of the original Highland Railway Line enables you to travel back in time. It's the perfect way to enjoy the spectacular views around you. The train takes you past heather-clad moors and woodland, travelling parallel with the Speyside Way.
Highland Folk Museum
We also enjoy a visit to the Highland Folk Museum. As Britain’s first open air museum, it holds collections of local, national and international importance reflecting on life in Scotland from the 1700s up to the mid-1900s.
