Jodrell Bank and the Anderton Boat Lift
We visit Jodrell Bank, an amazing, unique and awe-inspiring place. In the Space Dome experience an immersive, extraordinary Dome Show in a custom built planetarium-style auditorium. In the Space Pavilion listen to the sounds of the big bang, print a live reading from the Lovell Telescope, hear from Jodrell Bank scientists about their work. In the afternoon, we board the Edwin Clark boat, sit back and enjoy the unique experience of being transported 50 feet between two waterways on the world's oldest working boat lift. Stockport Hat Museum and Tatton Park
Journey through Stockport’s hatting history on our guided tour of the Factory Floor. Discover Wellington Mill’s roots in the cotton trade, the grizzly history of the fur trade, why Stockport was the place to make hats and see our Victorian hatting machines in motion for the first time since 2016. Later we visit Tatton Park, an historical estate with a neo-classical mansion, 50 acres of landscaped gardens, 1000 acres of deer park, a rare breed farm and medieval Old Hall. Chester and Chester Zoo
Chester has a compact city centre, with very visible Roman ruins which are dotted through the town.
