Magnificent Culzean Castle
The castle is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs. Designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century and is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived here. See Adam's masterpiece, the oval staircase, as well as the fine collection of paintings and furniture. The park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline dotted with caves, and finished off with a Swan Pond, an ice house, flamboyant formal gardens and fruit-filled glasshouses.
The Isle of Arran
We journey to nearby Ardrossan for the ferry crossing to Arran. ‘Scotland in Miniature’ is a place where you can find a little bit of everything you'd ever want from a Scottish island. It has an ever-changing coastline, dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered beaches and verdant forests.
The Burrell Collection
We travel to Glasgow and enjoy a morning panoramic guided tour with a local guide. Later we visit the amazing Burrell Collection, one of the greatest art collections ever amassed by one person, consisting of more than than 9,000 objects spanning 6,000 years of history. The Burrell Collection reopened on 29 March 2022 following an extensive refurbishment and redisplay. The displays range from work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne to important examples of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art, ancient civilizations and more.
