Tour of the Cotswolds
We visit the attractive town of Moreton-in-Marsh on market day. We tour the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, full of towns and villages of mellow Cotswold stone and thatched cottages. We also visit the picture postcard village of Broadway, where you can visit the Man Cave shop!
Sudeley Castle and Gardens and Cheltenham
This morning we visit the fantastic Sudeley Castle and Gardens, located in the heart of the Cotswolds. The castle hosts exhibits of fascinating treasures - from ancient Roman times to the present day. Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200-acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. The centrepiece is the Queen’s Garden - a must-see on this excursion. This afternoon, we visit the spa town of Cheltenham. Walk down the promenade - considered one of the most beautiful in the country, with its tree-lined avenue flanked by smart shops and cafés.
The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley
Once a Royal hunting forest of Norman Kings, it was transformed in the industrial revolution, because of iron ore deposits. The forest is now a haven for rare fauna and flora. We visit the Dean Heritage Museum which tells the story of this unique area. We return via the beautiful Wye Valley, passing the evocative ruins of Tintern Abbey.
