Cardigan and National Wool Museum
After a leisurely breakfast, we journey through the Teifi Valley to the National Wool Museum. Historically, the wool trade was Wales’ most important and widespread industry with the Teifi Valley the centre of this thriving economy. The museum shares the story of this trade and shows the process of weaving magic turning fleece into fabric. After our visit, we return through the valley to Cardigan where we enjoy free time to explore at leisure. The main landmarks of the town are the Cardigan Castle with its Georgian Mansion and medieval walls, plus the 19th century Guildhall, built in gothic architectural style. Entertainment following dinner this evening.
Cardigan Bay Cruise
Today we journey north to the seaside town of New Quay on the Cardigan Bay coast with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants that cling to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of the bay. Here we board for a boat trip to see the fabulous coastline and if we are lucky we may to spot dolphins and other wildlife. In the afternoon we spend some time in the charming little Georgian port town of Aberaeron with its elegant brightly painted townhouses. Entertainment following dinner this evening.
St Davids and Picton Castle
This morning, we enjoy a scenic drive along the coast to the smallest city in Britain, St Davids, named after the patron saint of Wales and dominated by its 12th-century cathedral. After spending some time here, we enjoy another scenic drive along the Pembrokeshire coast before heading inland as we make our way to Picton Castle and Woodland Garden - regarded as Pembrokeshire’s finest stately home and gardens. Entertainment following dinner this evening.
