We explore Dartmoor, an atmospheric National Park of tors and bogs, with wild ponies roaming free. We visit attractive Widdecombe-in-the-Moor of ‘Uncle Tom Cobley’ fame, which has a large church, known as the ‘Cathedral of the Moor’. Later we cross the moor via Moretonhampstead, Postbridge and Princetown.
Described by John Betjeman as 'A town caught still in a timeless charm’, this pleasant traditional seaside resort which has been popular since Regency times. Beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, clean beaches and friendly shops…. it’s all here in this lovely seaside town that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley.
We travel to historic Dartmouth and enjoy a circular cruise, sailing the lower part of the River Dart, viewing the castles at the estuary, Britannia Royal Naval College and towards Agatha Christie's Greenway Estate.
