Windermere Steam and Sail

Our day begins with a short ride to Haverthwaite Station. Here we catch the train to Lakeside where we visit the Aquarium of the Lakes, Britain’s largest freshwater aquarium where you will find pike, sharks and otters and a variety of other aquatic life. Next, we join a ‘steamer’ for a cruise to Bowness. Leaving the ship here we have time for lunch and the afternoon is free for you to enjoy the town. Later we rejoin the coach for the journey along the shore road back to the hotel.

Ulverston and L’al Ratty

Today we follow the coast to Ulverston, birthplace of Stan Laurel – here we have some free time to explore. From here we drive up the West Coast to Ravenglass where we enjoy a ride on L’al Ratty – The Ravenglass and Eskdake Miniature Railway. From here we return via Coniston Water and the southern fells.

A Day in the Dales

We travel to the lovely town of Kirkby Lonsdale on market day. The through the attractive scenery of Garsdale to Hawes, where we break for lunch. We return via Ribbledale, making a photo stop at the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct.
