Beamish Living Museum
Today we enjoy a full day at Beamish (admission included), the world-famous living museum of the North. Here you can live the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 1950s. Board one of the trams, horse-drawn carts or trains and visit the 1900s traditional sweet shop or explore the 1940s wartime farm, disappear down into the 1900s mine at the pit village.
Newcastle Guided Tour
We enjoy a morning guided tour by coach of the city and the rest of the day is at leisure. With a city centre boasting some of England’s finest Georgian architecture, Newcastle is a hub for shopping, from the independent stores and quirky shops of Grainger Town to the latest big brand names of Eldon Square. There are so many fantastic landmarks and attractions in Newcastle upon Tyne, including a variety of museums, theatres, historic sites and cultural venues.
Northern Pennines Drive and South Tynedale Railway
We travel along scenic Weardale, breaking for coffee in Stanhope, where you can visit the Durham Dales Centre. Onwards to the attractive town of Alston for a lunch break. In the early afternoon, we take a return ride on the South Tynedale Railway, through lovely scenery to Slaggyford.
